ABOUT THE PEOPLE BEHIND
BABY BIRD PRODUCTIONS ( BBP )

The artwork on products, the children's stories
and the content available on this BBP website
are all created by Barbara Freedman-De Vito.
   

Her husband, Bob, helped build up the CaféPress
shops and together Bob and Barbara run the
Baby Bird Productions company and BBP website.

Barbara has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the
University of Massachusetts (with certification as 
an art teacher), a Masters degree in Library Science
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
focusing on the study of children's literature, and a
Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other 
Languages (TESOL / TEFL ).

She is an experienced artist, writer, storyteller,
English teacher, art teacher, and children's
librarian. She has been entertaining kids since
1979, creating storytelling programs, puppet
shows and theatrical skits for schools, libraries,
museums, parks, hospitals, shopping centers,
festivals, and private homes. She has also taught
art, crafts and writing courses for children, and
has conducted workshops for university students,
teachers and librarians in the arts of storytelling,
puppetry and the creation of handmade props.

In addition, she has created artwork for several
institutions and written articles that have been
published in various professional journals.

What is Baby Bird Productions ( BBP ) ?

Baby Bird Productions is a company which provides fun children's clothing,
baby clothes, matching adult-sized clothing and unique BBP gift ideas such as
mugs, tote bags, bibs, and Teddy bears, all decorated with colorful pictures
from Barbara's children's stories and with her other artwork for BBP. Baby Bird
Productions also offers a growing collection of original children's stories and
fairy tales, which can be purchased as large paperback books from Amazon and
jobbers, collections of draw and tell stories, and framed fine art prints of
exotic and familiar birds and animals. Lastly, the Baby Bird site provides
free fun and educational resources for children, parents and teachers, plus
a blog.
