Here are some ways you can
exercise your imagination just
like you exercise your muscles. |
|
If you want to keep your imagination in tip-top shape, just pick up
an object from time to time and give it a good hard look. Try not to
think about what you would normally do with this object. Instead,
try to concentrate on its shape or its size or its texture, and see if
you can think of other interesting purposes that it might serve or
art projects you could use it for.
For example, is a plastic cup only good for drinking out of, or could
you use it as a pencil holder, or a scoop for shoveling sand at the
beach, or a hat, if you decorate it with colorful ribbons ?
Try your luck with some objects. Write down as many ideas as you
can think of. Compare your ideas to your friends' ideas. Which things
are the same on your list and your friends' lists ? Which things are
different ? Are there any that you would like to try to make ?
